As more people have found themselves at home during COVID-19, pet ownership has also been on the rise. To help these new pandemic puppy owners, Revival’s Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. Marty Greer, has created a resource to help families who have welcomed or are thinking about adding a new four-legged family member to their home.

What Do I Need to Know as a First Time Puppy Owner?

Dr. Greer published her latest book, Your Pandemic Puppy: Finding and Raising a Well-Adjusted Dog During COVID-19. In the book, you’ll find information on all aspects of your new puppy’s physical and mental well-being, including training and medical care. The book also explores what owning a puppy means to a family, and what to anticipate when returning to post-COVID life. “Becoming a dog owner in the midst of a global pandemic brings special challenges. All of us are left wondering just what dog ownership will look like in the future,” says Greer.

This is Dr. Greer’s second published book. Her first book titled Canine Reproduction and Neonatology is a practical guide for anyone with an interest in the breeding and maintenance of dogs.

For those who have a new puppy or kitten in the family, Dr. Greer has also put together a series of articles called What to Expect with a New Puppy. This series can be found in the Revival Animal Health Learning Center and is designed to answer many of those first-time puppy owner questions while providing new insights for current dog and cat owners.
